There are quite a few amazing furry hypno authors, and this list is by no means exhaustive. However, I hope it gives you a starting point, and highlights some older/less-active authors that might not show up at the top of your searches.
All of UnstableBill’s work is excellent - his hypnotist characters are easy to root for, and you never feel bad for the subjects. While I’d recommend pretty much all of his stories, his novel-length work North is spectacular in a way few other stories are; it’s thrilling, erotic, expertly crafted, and moving in a way you don’t often see. That said, North is a thriller, and can be unsettling at times. If you’d like something a bit easier (both in material and length), consider Service - every member of the cast is a delight, the story is fun, and you feel good at the end of the work. His other works with hypnosis: Arrested (and its sequel) and Henchmen are also quite good and worth a look too.
Sleth is the best person to go to if you want to see wolves zonked or edged. If you want to see both, you can’t go wrong with Electrum (and his fights against the Super Villain Influence). Also, if you’re in the mood for hypnosis + edging with a big buff hrothgar, Enthralled By Fire is pretty darn perfect.
Ajjaran tends to write buff jocks getting zonked, and that is something I love. Want to see the nerdy pup control the big buff jock during tutoring, or the coach ‘training’ his players? Ajjaran’s your guy! I commissioned parts 3 & 4 of their series Puppets and Strings, and I’d highly recommend it! Their work Study Break is also worth checking out!
Drazin has written a wide range of hypno stories, and I could easily recommend quite a few, but I think where they absolutely shine is in writing fantasy. If you’re interested in hypnosis stories that also have some solid world-building, they’re easy to recommend. Also, big buff dudes getting zonked is their preferred style, and that matches my desires quite nicely. Their work Alabaster, about two diplomats visiting a city where no one can remember what happens there, is spectacular. Also, Tall Tales, about an adventurer getting hypnotized by a series of wisps was the first thing I read of theirs and I still love it.
If Drazin’s Abalaster is where I’d send you for a high-fantasty hypno epic, pridebeef is the author that nails high-fantasty short hypno stories. A shopkeeper that zonks the hero, the dark lord tricking the adventurers into believing he’s the random villager helping them; this is where pride really excels. Their recent work Vanity, about a dragon that gets ensorcelled by a mirror, is excellent. I also commissioned them for that shopkeeper fic, which you can read here.
Also in the fantasy section, Snake Lords of the Desert is a massive, 40+ chapter epic (that’s still ongoing). The story follows the snake prince Lorenus as he tries to return to his homeland to overthrow his father. There’s only one problem: to overthrow his father, he needs an army. The story has some excellent hypnosis (it wouldn’t be on here otherwise), but the world building really develops into a thing on its own. We learn about the surrounding kingdoms, the politics, and more.
Mattswolf rounds out our fantasy section with his work Tamed, where the warrior Kusa follows his target into the strange fae wilds. The hypnosis isn’t as overt as some other stories on this list, but given the fay/surreal setting, that works in its favor. The story is well constructed, and I like how the opening hints early on at Kusa’s eventual fate; it makes the fall so much sweeter. If you like Matts’ DnD-inspired fantasy setting, you may also want to read Party Wipe where a group of adventures try to rescue their captured friend, but forget the most important rule of adventuring: don’t split the party.
DolphinInsanity’s Open Flame is a work that I always have loved. It follows a couple (a hypnotic ekans and his charming buff feraligatr boyfriend) as a Flareon tries to disrupt their romantic dinner plans. It’s simple, charming fun. Merchant x Mercenary, about a rat hiring (and manipulating) body guards is one I often come back to. I love it when hypnotized subjects don’t realize they're under control, and wow does this fic (and its sequel) deliver on oblivious hypnotized subjects.
OrcCultist/ArosLion has been on hiatus for a while, but they they have some amazing works. HypnoAddicts Anonymous is a favorite of mine. It follows several hypnosis “victims” that had escaped their respective hypnotists, and in group counseling they decide on a game: whoever can find all of their triggers and hypnotize everyone else in the group wins. The story manages to be charming, funny, hot, and sometimes even a tad dark. But above all, it’s an excellent read. Also, if you’re interested in the classic ‘dude at gym gets hypnotizing workout mix’ executed to perfection, check out their other story Song of the Siren.
Ouroboro has a similar style to ArosLion, but I think where they shine most is in detailed, incredibly hot inductions and hypnosis itself. If you’re someone who loves seeing a character enthralled, and watching the hypnotist slowly get around their resistance, this is who I’d recommend first. Temptation, about a hypnosis author and the hunky tiger who offers to work on his yard is short, simple, and a spin on the ‘hypnotizing the innocent lawn boy’ trope. If you’re interested in something longer, and perhaps a shade darker (with some added fun hypnosis by proxy), Freeing Mister Peterson, about a powerful badger discovering the joys of submission, is really good.
Wolphin has quite a few great hypnosis stories, but I think the ones that stand out to me are Roommates, about a wolf and his naga roommate, and Immunity about how Orcas are immune from hypnosis. You can guess where both are going from early on, yet they are executed extremely well - the writing is quick, sharply edited, and never drags. Wolphin also has their own site with stories that are not on FA. Over there, both The Overnight Stop and Furth are excellent.
Darkend’s work has a similar feel to wolphin, in that the works are well paced, and executed to perfection. Headphones, about a lion streamer who receives a pair of headphones from a sponsor (and doesn’t realize he’s being controlled on stream) is probably my favorite of theirs. It’s quick, hot, and does what you expect it to do beautifully. If you’re interested in something a tad longer and a bit more of a slow-burn, Training Methods, about a lizard conditioning his horse boyfriend with a pleasure collar, is incredibly solid.
Danath’s work on SoFurry was some of the first furry hypno content I stumbled upon, and I’ve always remembered it fondly. Warmth about a cobra looking for someone to keep him warm during the cold winter (and how he snags two roommates from the local college), has remained a favorite of mine over all these years. The slow way the cobra captures both of them (via recordings) is beautifully done, and the final scene is amazingly hot. If you enjoy Warmth, their other story, A Star Is Made - about a coach getting the best from his student - has a similar satisfying slow-burn.
While we’re discussing college jocks getting zonked, Escafanatic421’s Tommy series, where a college jock captured by former sports psychologist, is well worth a read. Admittedly, this fic has lots of elements that make it for me, like a zonked husky being a ‘good boy’ for his new master. Is it trope-y? Yes. Is it fun? Very much yes. Also, if you enjoyed Unstable Bill’s ‘Henchmen’, take a look at (Changing) Colors, they have a similar style and it works quite well.
Leem writes hypno-kink over a wide variety of fandoms and scenarios, and what makes them special is how well they seem to be able to adapt cross fandom. Want to see Wolf hypnotize Fox from StarFox, and for it to feel in character? Or see the Swat Kats controlled by some villain? They’ll do it, and they’ll manage to make the story feel as though it could have easily been a part of the established universe. And the hypno kink aspects are also well executed! Though they do well with fandom work, my favorites involve them working with original characters: New Employee, where a junior superhero stumbles into the lair of an evil scientist, and Minimum Security, where a Hypno Pokemon in a jail cell hypnotizes his guards. Both are fun romps that are a delight to read. Also, I commissioned them for a Wolf x Fox fic, which you can read here!
GrifterWolf, like Leem, writes across fandoms - they used to host challenges where they would prompt people for characters in completely different universes and they would then try to write something with the two characters together. They have a large volume of work, and choosing a favorite is a bit tricky, but I think their classic work Sweeter Pastures, about a pandarian trying to hypnotize a tauren to ‘milk’ him, remains an old favorite of mine. Something about hypnotizing a big bull character to milk him worked for me, and as you’re this far down this page, you can’t judge me. Also, I may have a thing for wolves and werewolves, and Mindless follows an elf hypnotizing a pack of worgen and thus works nicely for me. I also commissioned them for a Starfox fic, which you can read here!
Gruffy over at SoFurry was another one of the first hypno-authors I started reading in furry-land, and I still enjoy their work. Their mini-series for Sanmer, ‘Snap’, is about a cheetah hypnotizing his wolf roommate, and is hot, fun, and charming all at once. Also, hypno-based arousal control is always a win for me. I’d also recommend The Bouncy Bunny Burglar if you want to read a fantasy piece about a thief who is unwittingly entralled by an artifact in a noble’s mansion (it’s a bit darker but still fun, and and I really loved the concept). Finally, if Danath’s ‘A Star Is Born’ worked for you, check out Coach’s Special Massage which is also a slow-burn which hits those same notes beautifully.
Touchstone only wrote four stories on SoFurry; all of them are beautifully executed, and handle hypnosis brilliantly. That said, they’re some of the darkest stories on this list (their subjects resist a bit), so your milage may vary. But Collared, about a human entralling a captured werewolf, and To Tame a Warrior, about a wolf warrior that goes to gather information about the minotaur tribe, are my two favorites. Like Wolphin, the execution is very solid, and very satisfying. They also have non-furry work on MCStories.
Theonehowl has some excellent short stories. Their work for the Grunmann Institute for Behavior Modification (a collection of stories run by ouroboro) was excellent, but I think my favorite is actually one of their longer works. His Keeper is the story of a mouse in a monastery who begins having strange dreams about the visiting naga, and the slow way the mouse is molded through his dreams (until his inevitable surrender) is exceptionally well done. If you’re looking for something short, quick, and hot though, you can’t go wrong with Patient Privledge.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t include Dreams of Ghosts in this list. The story of two dragon brothers getting shipwrecked on an unknown island, and meeting the island’s sole inhabitant, is both beautiful and haunting in a way that has stayed with me since I first read it several years ago. Also, while there is another story (God of Wine) in this universe, be aware it is notably darker and has a ‘ruining someone’s life’ vibe that is not for me.
If you don't mind Pokemon x Human (or at least are open to it), First Catch follows a Gardevoir after he is ‘captured’ by a human. In reality, it might be more appropriate to say the human was captured. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like if a psychic Pokemon decided ‘wait, why aren’t I the one in charge here’, this is a story for you. A small note: this story does push up on my limit for humiliation for a subject, so you may want to proceed with caution here.
While I normally don’t enjoy reading stories written in second person, Melt Me by Sheeplike is something special. The piece is beautiful, sweet and easily the ‘lightest’ item on this list. It’s a lovely romance between an anxiety-ridden fox (who I could easily identify with) and a charming wolf, and it’s well worth your time. They also wrote a story for me with my wolf avatar (Professor Wolf) as a supervillain and it is spectacular.
g472y tends to focus on technology and brain-based mind-control stories (nanites, computer chips, etc). However, they also have some fantastic hypnosis works, like the New Workout Series. The way the author describes how the subject feels, and how much they want to have their thoughts driven from their head, is pitch perfect and really well executed (though, just as a heads up - the last chapter in the series does have M/F). They also wrote a commission for me that takes place in the same world and is M/M (and incredibly good).
Profe_Lambert excels at writing short-form hypno stories, particularly those in the fantasy and sci-fi genres. Their entries for Hypnovember 2022 were excellent, particularly Day 26 - Long Distance about a streamer who’s mod has added some new sound effects the chat. Day 12 - Trigger, about a superhero giving an interview, is also excellent. For those looking for another fantasy read, check out Forbidden Magic.
While still in-progress, Aether’s series Enthralled is worthy of your time now. The series starts in a fictional hypnosis convention, and while each chapter nominally explores a different hypnosis theme (coils, unaware, etc), the larger story of what’s happening to the characters at the convention is gripping. It’s inventive, incredibly hot, and manages to explore some darker concepts without making you feel bad for the subject. If you’d like something more self-contained and complete, check out Office Hours, featuring a certain wolf professor.
It’s also worth checking out Nickylion's Blind Dates (even if it does end on a cliffhanger). Lactose’s Gym Class is fun if you’re in the mood for a quick zonk-the-jock read, as is Twilightbill’s Relaxing Dorm Mates. If you like Robin Hood, Bucephalus’ Hypnotized is fantastic!
The Entrancing Awards is a gay, furry hypno story contest, and I’m one of the event staff! We got 56 entries during our first year. You can find the info here:
If you’re read everything here, and are looking for something new, take a look at the entries to the old Zsisron hypno story contents (though be advised a few of the stories are m/f). You can find them here:
You should also look at Zsisron’s Gallery and their favorites - they have commissioned a lot of hypnosis stories and art over the years, and they’re an amazing resource.
Another excellent resource is Selrach, whose favorites on FA are a well-curated vault of hypno-treasures.
Finally, as a note - I sometimes write things. You can find my own work here
